Welcome to the March Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop. The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen!
Just last week I was commenting that having a Silhouette Cameo and creating paper crafts with it was like paper dolls for adults.
When I saw this pin:
I knew that I had to make it, since it was was even more like paper dolls for adults!
The tutorial at Homemade Gifts Made Easy is really well done; they step you through everything you need to be successful with this project, including a couple of options of downloadable templates. Their original craft involves making the dresses out of scanned book pages, and I really did like that idea, but since this is SuzerSpace, I did switch it up a little.
First up, I downloaded their template and then redrew it so my Silhouette could cut the file. And secondly, I created a couple of pretty pastel gradient sheets of paper to cut the dresses from. Really, the possibilities on this one are endless – holiday themes would be neat, and this template could make super cute quinceanera, sweet sixteen or wedding cards as well.
The template they provide has several bodice parts and one common skirt pattern. A little folding brings the skirt to life.
And then they recommend adding embellishments to finish the waistline.
In one version, they used scalloped scissors to change the hem, and I liked how that turned out as well.
Pin this for when the urge to create dress pattern cards strikes you!
This post will be linked up at some of these great link up parties.

These cards are so cute! My niece loves dresses and especially dresses that twirl. This would be the perfect card for her. I have a Cricut, but I love creating paper crafts with it so much!
What a cute idea. love those cards. My niece’s daughters would love to receive a card like this. Thanks for sharing.
These are SO cute!! I do a lot of paper crafts and these dresses are just darling.
Thank you for sharing at #OverTheMoon. Pinned and shared.
At first I thought these were little dress wall prints which I thought would be so cute in my granddaughter’s bedroom. Then I realized they are cards. Still cute. Am thinking this would be fun to play around with and figure out how to make them for shadow box artwork.
These are so adorable. Found you on Sew Can Do. Love your blog.
I agree with Kelli that they’d make cute wall art, too. Love all the possibilities of this pattern.
What a sweet project, great to hang on the walls
How cute! I used to LOVE paper dolls!
I need to make some of these to hang in my sewing space! So many possibilities!
These cards are adorable! I love this idea so much! My daughter has a birthday coming up and she would love these for invites.
These are lovely, I like the extras like the hem edge with the fancy scissors.
They’d be great with maybe a little flower at the waist for ‘will you be my bridesmaid?’ cards, or in white for a bridal shower or wedding card too wouldn’t they?
I bet this could be worked into beautiful money gifts pretty easily. Great idea!
These are adorable! I have a Cricut but haven’t done much with paper cutting. This is definitely inspiration to get started!
What a fun way to use up paper scraps to make cards. I can see this on boxes, wall art, and so much more. Super fun project and it’s nice a template was provided too.
These cards are so fun! My daughter loves cards, and she would love one like this.
These are darling! When my girls were little this would have been perfect to make and frame for their room. Alas, teenagers don’t want me making cute things for their rooms anymore, lol
Maybe you could make some of jeans with ripped holes in them? That’s what most of the teens appear to be wearing these days, and it wouldn’t be too hard to craft 🙂
