While September disappeared in the blink of an eye, October feels like it lasted for longer than just 31 days.
I think I made the month feel even longer than normal by ordering something online that is backordered until November, so while I’m trying not to count the days, I kind of am.
October was a month of small triumphs at the SuzerSpace:
I finished the Loveleigh Loops Faux Calligraphy class, as evidenced by the feature photo at the top of the post. I’m practicing, practicing and practicing, hoping to be happy with my work enough to use it for the holidays. My first goal is to letter my storm door myself this year – probably the same saying, but this time my letters instead of pretty typeface.
Another win at the SuzerSpace was Mr. SuzerSpace and I installed a new thermostat. If you know me, you know this has been on the list for about three years, but finally the old one broke so it got to the “can’t make it worse” condition I usually need to attempt a home project. If you have this on your list, I highly recommend doing it because I can already tell we are going to save a ton of money on utility bills because the furnace is running a lot less often since we installed it.
On the entertainment front, I’ve called it quits on the Roosevelt biography. It’s well written, and interesting but it’s just too large to conquer. I rechecked it out several times, but eventually someone else wanted it and I’m not sure I’m going to pick it back up again.
Instead, I binged watched Samin Nosrat’s Netflix version of her book Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat which really challenged my commitment to maintaining a low carb, low fat eating plan.
The good news is that also made me realize it’s time to start hunting for new recipes for my very favorite SuzerSpace holiday – Thanksgiving!
