If it’s the third Tuesday of the Month, then it’s Pinterest Challenge Time!
Didn’t know that? No worries, I’ll explain –
There’s a group of bloggers, guided by Erlene at My Pinterventures who challenge themselves to create something from one of the many pins they have on their Pinterest boards.
As with almost anything Pinterest related, the real challenge for me was picking just one pin to focus on.
I have so many that I want to try, but this one
has been calling my name for a while, partly because it’s super cute, and partly because for my birthday I treated myself to a nice work bag and the style is very similar to the handle style tote bag in this mini paper tote bag craft.
As promised by the web page title connected to the pin, this is an easy craft. And what’s really nice is Bibi designed this to fit one 6 x 6 sheet of paper with zero waste. And all you need is that paper (double sided is best), some brads and either a paper cutter or an x-acto knife, plus some double stick tape.
I practiced on some plain copy paper, and then set up some custom printed paper because I wanted to mimic the look of my new work bag, which is black on the outside and red on the inside.
The video on the website steps you through making this cute mini paper tote bag, and I was successful on my very first try. On my second version, I changed up the fold over bit at the top so that I didn’t fold it in until AFTER I had attached the handles with the brads, which let me hide the back of the brads and give the bag a more finished look.
These are cute on their own, but are sized to hold a standard gift card. While I usually like to make paper box gift card holders with my Silhouette Cameo, I think this may be my new go-to presentation.

Oh my gosh, what a great idea. So much better than the typical gift card envelope or tin. Pinning this for inspiration later 🙂
A really nifty idea for giving gift cards — I’m going to try it with holiday papers for Christmas.
These gift card holders look great. I love finding creative ways to package a gift card. Pinning for later.
Oh my goodness; these are so stinkin’ cute!! I love them and just in time for the holidays too where I’ll be giving out lots of gift cards this year. Pinned.
This is a terrific idea. I love the idea of a personalized bag for a gift card.
So cute & it looks like a real bag. I love cute paper gift card holders, it add such a nice personal touch. Adorable! Pinning
Great project! I love the look and that you took time to make something pretty to hold a gift card.
I never heard nor thought of a paper tote bag as a gift card holder. But holy camoly, what a wonderful idea. I hate giving money or gift cards as they never look a stunner. Just this past weekend I craftetd a giant paper flower as a very big accessory to a tiny envelope with money in it. Thank you for this inspiration. Definitely pinning it!
cute project. Thanks for sharing at our To Grandma’s House We Go DIY, Crafts, Recipes and More Link Party. I pinned this! Hope to see you again Wednesday!
I LOVE this! And a simple make to dress up a gift card.
Those are so cute and perfect size for a gift card!
