I think most papercrafters think of Paper Source as the mother lode of inspiration. To be honest, the store scares me a little. The two locations here are in very upscale shopping centers, and I wasn’t sure how friendly the staff would be to someone like me who crafts on a tight budget.
Boy was I wrong.
During the holiday shopping season I worked up my nerve and stopped in, and everyone was very friendly. I didn’t stay long because the place was packed.
But earlier this week I had a second opportunity, and it was just as good.
It should be clear by now this is not a paid endorsement. With the exception of the cashier who probably would remember me by my crazy winter hat and really brightly colored jacket, Paper Source doesn’t know I exist.
Here are a few things I saw in person at the store that I want to put my own spin on. Currently they are having an end-of-season sale so if you are in shopping mood, you should definitely check it out.
- Calendars, calendars, calendars. It’s funny, because I make calendars at work from October through December, and it gets to the point where I see them in my sleep. But we make the more business like versions, and Paper Source has all the cool ones.
My two favorites from this group are the Paper Source Silver Foil on Paper Bag and the Paper Source Blotter Calendar. Both are big and bold and would go just about anywhere.
2. All the garlands. One of my favorite things to craft from scratch. The kits there are amazing – I’d buy them all if I won a super awesome Paper Source lottery.
3. Greeting cards. The whole right side of the shop is lined with these fabulous cards. Sometimes when I search for a card at the grocery store or Hallmark they are overly romantic or sappy. That’s not me. Paper Source? Real life. My favorite card:
If you are wondering what I bought, it was something super mundane – a two-pack of glue pens.
